Welcome To North Cheshire Radio!

 

Welcome North Cheshire Radio. This is an exciting new project that hopes to bring a local community focused radio station to the people of the historic area of Northern Cheshire. If you live in Altrincham, Sale, or one of the many surrounding suburbs, towns or villages, this will be the station for you. We hope that, transmitter permitting; we will reach as far out as Partington, Lymm and Knutsford.

 

This station will be the premier source of local news and information, provide a voice for our community on issues that are too small to be of interest to the regional media, and a focal point for the broadcasting needs of our community.

Specialist programming reflecting the tastes and needs of local people will be developed to make the station as inclusive as possible.

 

North Cheshire Radio will be run on a “Not for Profit” basis with any surplus income used to develop this project within our community, or to support other local community groups.

 

There will be opportunities for all members of our community to become involved in North Cheshire Radio and this website has been created to invite you to become a supporter of North Cheshire Radio. 

 

 

 

 

In order to serve the community of Northern Cheshire we would like to hear from anyone who lives, works, or has connections with the area, either now or in the past. Once we are “up and running” it will help us provide programme content that is relevant to the community as seen and experienced by as many people as possible. It is our aspiration that North Cheshire Radio will become a focal point for anyone who has an interest in what is happening locally, whilst also providing a platform for those who wish to look back nostalgically on times gone by.

 

Our Ethos!

 

North Cheshire Radio will be more than just another radio station. We intend to become an integral part of the community providing a link between members of the public and the various groups and organisations that help make life better for everyone who lives in Northern Cheshire.

We will be providing training opportunities (free of any charge) for those volunteers who wish to become involved in making programmes and will be especially keen to develop working between people from different age groups, cultures and social backgrounds.
